Home-made Granola

Thank you to The Eating Expert for inspiring this tasty Granola. Delicious with natural yogurt and fresh fruit for breakfast, a great way to start your day.

Pecan and maple granola

 Recipe

120g jumbo oats

50g sunflower seeds

25g sesame seeds (or half & half chia seeds)

50g pecans

25g hazelnuts

50ml sunflower oil or coconut oil

50ml maple syrup

50g raisins

50 dried cranberries

Preheat the oven to 140°C. Mix the oats, seeds and nuts together in a bowl. Gently heat the oil and syrup in a saucepan until melted, then remove from the heat. Add the melted oil and syrup to the oat mixture and stir well. Spread the coated mixture onto a large baking sheet . Bake in the oven for 20 minutes then reduce the heat to 120°C and continue baking for a further 30 minutes until crisp. Remove from the oven and mix in the raisins and cranberries. Allow to cool. Store in an airtight container. Enjoy!

You can vary the nuts and seeds to your own taste.
